A musician will visit your school near the beginning of the summer term and teach your class or bubble two pieces from the “Anthem For A New Season”. One will be a catchy groove to which you can add your own responses and percussion breaks. The other is a ballad to which each school can add their own verses. Each school will also have the opportunity to send musical ideas and words to our composer, Bryony Jarman-Pinto, who will create a unique song with backing track for you to sing. You can listen to some of her music and see her explaining her songwriting process.
The musician will then come back for a second visit to sing and play through everything and gather material for a final recording.
We will also be asking for artwork inspired by the themes in the Anthem and your songs to go in our online gallery.
Final performance options will be worked out depending on general conditions but we will definitely organise an online showing towards the end of the summer term.
The project has been rescheduled and all the activity – the in-school musician visits and the composer-written song or drumming piece – will take place in the Summer Term, starting as soon as convenient for you.
