We have two BlueJam Singers Groups, one led by Jilly Jarman in Penrith and the other led by Sarah Gray in Newcastle.

The group is small and we start off with a warm-up, then usually sing a couple of jazz standards, looking at ways to use our voices, expanding dynamics and range, and have fun with improvising as well. If you are not a confident singer that is fine!

A singer, songwriter, teacher and choir/workshop leader with 20 years experience, Sarah Gray has a long association with BlueJam Arts and specialises in working with people who want to explore what their voice can do, encouraging confidence, building skills and always remembering that music is something we play! This group will take Sarah’s enthusiasm for all sorts of songs – it’s always about the songs – and look at harmonies, solo singing (optional), creative approaches and a bit of daft fun.
