Innovative and inclusive music and arts in Cumbria and NE

CreateJam is a place for 11-24 year olds to escape the labels society puts on us and just create. At CreateJam we empower young people in their individual artistic practice and their ability to share that practice with others through workshops. We are co-creating community and a place we all feel we belong.

What does this look like in practice?
We will have bi-weekly Wednesday afternoon mash-up sessions for a core group of young people.
The sessions will have an artistic and musical element and the young people will always have freedom to choose what they do or don’t participate in and how they might like to shape the sessions.

You don’t need to be good at art or music to get involved, we’re just here to jam.

You will have access to a wide range of instruments, loop pedals and production gear and random objects to play and make music with, guided by Asha. Last session we started out creating the sounds of the rainforest and finished with a mixed genre song with drums, piano and mixed vocals!

You will also be able to experiment with a wide range of creative materials including Gelli Plate Printing, Cyanotype, painting and so much more, guided by Caitlin (which means nature will sneak in too!).

CreateJam is funded by National Lottery Community Fund through Cumbria Youth Alliance.
