On Saturday 15th November (doors 7pm) we’re delighted to be hosting a gig with Sam Sweeney and Grace Smith. Sam and Grace are two of England’s leading fiddle players, known for their powerful, expressive playing and deep connection to traditional music. Sam, a BBC Folk Award winner and veteran of Bellowhead and Leveret, has been called “Britain’s Premier Fiddler” (Songlines), while Grace, a rising star with her acclaimed trio and work with Katie Doherty & the Navigators, brings a fresh, creative voice to the tradition. Both are passionate educators and innovative performers, combining archive inspiration with new compositions to create music that is richly rooted and boldly contemporary.

Tickets cost £16 (full price) and £12 (concessions) – please select the appropriate price from the drop down menu on the ticket page. There are a limited number of concession tickets available – all sales pays the artists and helps us host gigs and events at BlueJam so do consider whether you truly need a concession, though money should not be a barrier for attendance.

Hot drinks, soft drinks and wine will be available by donation.

On Wednesday 22nd October (7:30pm) BlueJam Folk are delighted to be hosting a gig with Robin Dunn, Martin Dunn and Rachael Hales, with a folk session afterwards (don’t forget your instrument if you play!). Together Robin, Martin and Rachel play folk tunes from around the UK, America, Canada and Europe, in unique self-penned arrangements.

Tickets cost £8 (full price) and £6 (concessions) for non BlueJam Folk members. There are a limited number of concession tickets available – all sales pays the artists and helps us host gigs and events at BlueJam so do consider whether you truly need a concession, though money should not be a barrier for attendance.

Blue Jam Folk is an informal friendly group who meet every Wednesday evening in Penrith to play traditional music. We provide a safe space both for beginners who want to develop their skills and also for more advanced players to practice playing together and experimenting with new ideas.
