6th December – final session

You know when you are feeling jaded, full of cold and just want a lie in? Well, before Children’s Orchestra today I felt like that – afterwards, I felt energised and ready for anything – even Christmas shopping!
The orchestra was the best it has been yet I think – lovely playing, mostly right notes, mostly in the right place, and definitely all playing together as a group. Glad to welcome back old faces and see new ones. It is great that new people are joining up each week and that people who came at the beginning feel OK about coming back. We seem to have a core of about 15 players now, plus adults who join in – in fact the cello section is made up of beginner parents!

A big thanks to Richard Evans (cello, guitar and accordion) who come along today and helped out – we hope we will see more of him. Pics and vid to come soon – they are trapped on Rachael’s phone at the moment!
Also want to say a big thank you to Emilia Louilli who helped out the first half of term, to Rachael Oakden for directing the strings, to Helen Bailey for organising the horn section and to all the parents who come along and help out enormously.
And not to forget Daniel who sets up and clears away each week – thanks!
